A modern city and a major transport hub facing Seto Inland Sea, Takamatsu offers a bustling city lifestyle contrasted with carefully manicured, tranquil green areas at the foot of the mountains and the lava plateau.
Popular historic sites such as Yakuriji Temple and Kikugetsutei are in your itinerary. Do some cultural sightseeing at Negoroji Temple and Saikokuji Temple. Venture out of the city with trips to Fukuyama (Io-ji Temple, Fukuzen-ji Temple, &more), Kyu Zentsujikaikosya (in Zentsuji) and Izutama Shrine (in Kotohira-cho). There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kumadaniji Temple, step into the grandiose world of Kinojo Castle, visit a coastal fixture at Takamatsuko Tamamo Breakwater Light, and visit Shionoe-cho.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Takamatsu Airport, Okayama Airport and Hiroshima Airport. In October, plan for daily highs up to 70°F, and evening lows to 58°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Wed) so you can travel back home.
