Onna-son

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Katsuren Castle Ruins, Blue Cave and Kayaking & Canoeing. On the 9th (Wed), paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, Head underground at Blue Cave, find your balance on the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, then enjoy the sand and surf at Sun Marina Beach, then get outside with Diamond Beach, and finally kick back and relax at Busena Beach. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Minna Beach, examine the collection at Oceanic Culture Museum, head outdoors with Bisezaki, make a trip to Nakijin Castle Ruins, then enjoy the sand and surf at Akabaka Beach, and finally make a trip to Bise no Warumi.

Naha to Onna-son is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also take a bus. In September, daytime highs in Onna-son are 87°F, while nighttime lows are 76°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Fri) so you can go by car to Yaese-cho.

Okinawa Prefecture is the southernmost prefecture of Japan. It comprises hundreds of the Ryukyu Islands in a chain over long. The Ryukyus extend southwest from Kyushu (the southwesternmost of Japan's four main islands) to Taiwan. The Okinawa Prefecture encompasses the southern two thirds of that chain. Naha, Okinawa's capital, is located in the southern part of Okinawa Island.Although Okinawa comprises just 0.6 percent of Japan's total land mass, about 75 percent of all U.S. military installations stationed in Japan are assigned in Okinawa.
