The capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil occupies perhaps the longest-inhabited land in the world, with the earliest human settlement here possibly dating back to 5000 BCE.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Tue): walk around Sami Abdulrahman Park, steep yourself in history at Erbil Citadel, and then walk around Shanadar Park. On your second day here, look for gifts at Bazaar, browse the different shops at Family Mall, then examine the collection at Kurdish Textile Museum, and finally don't miss a visit to Mudhafaria Minarett.
