In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Milan: Verona (Acqua del Garda, Casa di Giulietta, &more). There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Milano, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, take in the local highlights with Walking tours, and browse the collection at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.

On the 9th (Thu), appreciate the extensive heritage of Fourviere Hill, admire the landmark architecture of Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere, then get to know the fascinating history of Vieux Lyon, and finally explore the world behind art at Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon. On your second day here, don't miss a visit to Traboules du Vieux Lyon, then stroll around Parc de la Tete d'Or, and then examine the collection at Musee Miniature et Cinema.

Perhaps best known for its locally produced mustard, Dijon also makes a wonderfully flavorful crème de cassis, or blackcurrant liqueur, and boasts excellent examples of regional architecture with polychrome roofs made of tiles in terracotta, green, yellow, and black placed in geometric patterns.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Sat): make a trip to Rue Des Forges, then pause for some serene contemplation at Chapelle des Elus, and then don't miss a visit to Place de la Liberation. Here are some ideas for day two: admire the masterpieces at Musee des Beaux-Arts de Dijon, don't miss a visit to Tour Philippe le Bon, pause for some serene contemplation at Paroisse Notre-Dame De Dijon, steep yourself in history at Maison Milliere, then see the interesting displays at Musee Magnin, and finally examine the collection at Le Consortium.

Step out of Troyes with an excursion to Nigloland in Dolancourt--about 46 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul, appreciate the extensive heritage of Ruelle des Chats, admire the landmark architecture of Église Sainte-Madeleine, and explore the world behind art at Musee D'art Moderne.
