Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Scuba & Snorkeling and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. The adventure continues: enjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki, enjoy breathtaking views from Tamatorizaki Observatory, make a trip to Cape Ongazaki, and get outside with Kondoi Beach.

Stockholm, Sweden to Ishigaki is an approximately 21-hour flight. You can also do a combination of ferry, train, and flight; or do a combination of ferry and flight. Traveling from Stockholm to Ishigaki, you'll lose 8 hours due to the time zone difference. In June, Ishigaki is much hotter than Stockholm - with highs of 37°C and lows of 32°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sat) so you can catch the ferry to Iriomote-jima.

Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima stands as the second largest island in Okinawa.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Canyoning & Rappelling Tours and Pinaisara Falls. There's still lots to do: glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, enjoy the sand and surf at Ida no Hama Beach, identify plant and animal life at Funauki Village, and step off the mainland to explore Iriomote Island.

Ride a ferry from Ishigaki to Iriomote-jima in an hour. In June, daytime highs in Iriomote-jima are 37°C, while nighttime lows are 32°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) early enough to ride a ferry to Miyakojima.

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.

You can ride a ferry from Iriomote-jima to Miyakojima in 4 hours. Expect a daytime high around 36°C in June, and nighttime lows around 30°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can travel to Onna-son.

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.

Step off the beaten path and head to Shiratani Unsuikyo Valley and Taikoiwa. There's much more to do: hike along Yakusugi Land, admire the sheer force of Oko no Taki Fall, make a trip to Wilson Stump, and look for all kinds of wild species at Anbo River.

Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, flight, and taxi; or do a combination of bus, flight, and train. Traveling from Kyoto in June, things will get slightly colder in Shari-cho: highs are around 20°C and lows about 14°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sun) so you can travel to Tokyo.
