Hakusan is a city located in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.The modern city of Hakusan was established on February 1, 2005, from the merger of the city of Mattō, and the towns of Mikawa and Tsurugi, and the villages Kawachi, Oguchi, Shiramine, Torigoe and Yoshinodani (all from Ishikawa District).As of April 1, 2008 population data, the city has an estimated population of 110,654 and a population density of 147 persons per km2. Step out of the city life by going to Chirihama Nagisa Driveway and Tojinbo Cliff. Get some historical perspective at Daihonzan Eiheiji Temple and Nomura Family Samurai House. Step out of Hakusan to go to Katsuyama and see Fukui Dinosaur Museum, which is approximately 1h 15 min away. There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Ninja Temple, take a stroll through Higashichaya Old Town, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Hakusan.
