Takachiho-cho

The mountain town of Takachiho-cho remains a place of great importance to Japan's spiritual and natural heritage, and the point where these two things intersect.
Visit Oka Castle Ruins and Aratate Shrine for their historical value. Escape the urban bustle at Manai Falls and Aso Geopark. The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II. This history, of course, remains important to the city, its inhabitants, and to the wider world, and should not be forgotten.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Yutoku Inari Shrine and Kofukuji Temple. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Nyokodo, Nagai Takashi Museum and Suwa Shrine. Yakushima-cho

A popular destination for Japanese tourists, Kumage-gun Yakushima-cho is a true paradise for nature lovers, with over 1,900 species and subspecies of plants.
Take a break from the city and head to Yakusugi Land and Yoggo Valley. Step off the beaten path and head to Nagata Inakahama and Seibu Trail. Traveling by car from Shinkamigoto-cho to Yakushima-cho takes 14 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and flight. While traveling from Shinkamigoto-cho, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Yakushima-cho, ranging from highs of 28°C to lows of 20°C. You will have some time to spend on the 24th (Mon) before leaving for Yoron-cho.
