Get some cultural insight at Hase-dera Temple and Kunozan Toshogu Shrine. Take a break from the city and head to Pola Museum of Art and Mount Omuro. Get out of town with these interesting Hakone-machi side-trips: Atami (Kiunkaku & Kinomiya Shrine), Ito (Omuro Mountain Lift & Jogasaki Coast) and Nature & Wildlife Tours (in Fuji). Traveling by car from Hakone-machi to Hakuba-mura takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a train. When traveling from Hakone-machi in April, plan for somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Hakuba-mura: temperatures range from 19°C by day to 10°C at night.
