A spiritual center of Shintoism, Ise stands as a traditional city where visitors can see the roots of Japanese culture in a number of well-preserved natural and historic sites.
Explore hidden gems such as Yamato-hime Shrine and Takinomiya. Venture out of the city with trips to Shima (Daiosaki Lighthouse, Daiozaki Lighthouses, &more). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Hinjitsukan, don't miss a visit to Amanoiwato, get engrossed in the history at Jingu Chokokan Museum, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Aramatsurinomiya.

To see more things to do, other places to visit, where to stay, and other tourist information, you can read our Ise trip planner.

If you are flying in from Singapore, the closest major aiports are Chubu Centrair International Airport, Osaka International Airport and Kansai International Airport. In December, daytime highs in Ise are °C, while nighttime lows are °C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 12th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
