Bangkok, Thailand to Hiroshima is an approximately 9-hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly. You'll lose 2 hours traveling from Bangkok to Hiroshima due to the time zone difference. Plan for colder temperatures traveling from Bangkok in May, with highs in Hiroshima at 28°C and lows at 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Sat) early enough to catch the train to Kyoto.

You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Shiretoko Goko Lake and Mt. Io. Step out of Shari-cho with an excursion to Lake Mashu in Teshikaga-cho--about 1h 30 min away.
