The village of Zamami-son in the western Kerama Islands spans four of the islands in the group, one of which remains uninhabited.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Aharen Beach and Tokashiku Beach. Get in touch with nature at Furuzamami Beach and Aka Beach. There's more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Nishibama Beach and identify plant and animal life at Toma.

You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Yonehara Beach and Fusaki Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Kabira Bay and Akashi Beach. On the 9th (Wed), spend an adventurous day with a kayaking and canoeing tour. A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.

You can fly from Ishigaki to Miyakojima in 2 hours. In March in Miyakojima, expect temperatures between 26°C during the day and 20°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Sun) early enough to travel to Hatsukaichi.

Get some cultural insight at Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine. Get outdoors at Mt. Misen and Paddle Park. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Hatsukaichi: Tatsunokuchi (in Akiota-cho) and Yawata Wetlands (in Kitahiroshima-cho). You can do a combination of flight and train from Miyakojima to Hatsukaichi in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. When traveling from Miyakojima in March, plan for a bit cooler days in Hatsukaichi, with highs around 16°C, while nights are much colder with lows around 6°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Wed) to allow time to take a train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Nara Park and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Take a break from the city and head to Rokuen and Yase Momiji no Komichi. Take a break from Kyoto with a short trip to Todai-ji Temple in Nara, about 1 hour away. The adventure continues: contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, go for a walk through Arashiyama, take in the spiritual surroundings of Sanjusangendo Temple, and don't miss a visit to Gion.
