Along the Dalmation Coast, the city of Dubrovnik has become famous for its pedestrian-only Old Town surrounded by fortress walls, and its historical heft has earned it World Heritage Site status.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Vlaho Bukovac House and Kolocep Island. Take a break from the city and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Sunj Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Dubrovnik: Srebreno Beach (in Srebreno), Tvrđava Koruna (in Mali Ston) and Cavtat (Cavtat Old Town, Church of Our Lady of the Snow, & more). Spend the 5th (Thu) on the water with a fishing tour. Dedicate the 26th (Mon) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Fort Lovrijenac, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola, step off the mainland to explore Lopud Island, and stroll through Sveti Jakov Beach.
