Establishing a name for itself as "Korea's Ecological Capital," Suncheon sits nestled on the southwest coastline of the Korean peninsula, a haven of scenic beauty.
On the 4th (Tue), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Saseongam Temple 四聖庵, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Seonamsa Temple, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Songgwangsa Temple, and finally get to know the fascinating history of Nagan Eupseong Folk Village. Keep things going the next day: take in nature's colorful creations at Suncheon Bay Garden, walk around Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve, then explore the historical opulence of Suncheon Japanese Castle, and finally don't miss a visit to Suncheon Open Film Set.

Getting from Jeju to Suncheon by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of ferry and taxi; or ride a ferry. In February, daily temperatures in Suncheon can reach 13°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Wed) so you can drive to Busan.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Let the collections at Gyeongju National Museum and Ulsan Daegok Museum capture your imagination. Get a sense of the local culture at Cheonmachong Tomb and Gyeongju Historic Area. Get out of town with these interesting Gyeongju side-trips: Ulsan Petroglyph Museum (in Ulsan) and Eunhaesa Temple (in Yeongcheon). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Yangdong Folk Village, appreciate the history behind Seokguram, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Bulguksa Temple, and explore the activities along Anapji Pond.

Drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Busan in February, expect nights in Gyeongju to be somewhat warmer, around 4°C, while days are slightly colder, around 5°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Tue) so you can go by car to Gangneung.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Naksansa Temple and Woljeongsa. Ojukheon and Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum will appeal to museum buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Gangneung: Donghae (Chuam Beach & Mureung Valley) and Sangwonsa (in Pyeongchang-gun). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Gyeongpo Beach, steep yourself in history at Gyeongpodae, and take in the waterfront at Jumunjin Breakwater.
