Whitianga is a town on the Coromandel Peninsula, in the Waikato Region of New Zealand's North Island. Visiting Matarangi Beach and The Lost Spring will get you outdoors. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Whangapoua Beach and Cathedral Cove Walk. Get out of town with these interesting Whitianga side-trips: New Chums Beach (in Whangapoua), Moko Artspace (in Hot Water Beach) and Hahei Beach Walk (in Hahei). There's more to do: witness a stunning natural landmark at Hot Water Beach and kick back and relax at Otama Beach.

The town of Whangamatā is sited on the southeast coast of the Coromandel Peninsula in the North Island of New Zealand. Get outdoors at Opoutere Surf Beach and Whangamata Beach. You'll get in some beach time at Whiritoa Beach and Anzac Bay. Explore Whangamata's surroundings by going to Pauanui (Pauanui Beach & Pauanui Trail). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Waihi Beach.

Wellington, the world's southernmost capital city and New Zealand's second most populous urban area, combines the nation's rugged history and nature with its modern and cosmopolitan present.
On the 28th (Sun), get engrossed in the history at Wellington Museum, steep yourself in history at Old St Paul's, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Oriental Bay. On the 29th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: identify plant and animal life at ZEALANDIA Sanctuary, see the interesting displays at The Weta Cave, and then examine the collection at Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
