Shop till you drop at Fifth Avenue and The Strand Bookstore. The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Ellis Island will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with these side-trips from New York City: Bronx Zoo (in Bronx) and Jones Beach State Park (in Wantagh).
