Do a combination of taxi, flight, and train from Yakushima-cho to Takachiho-cho in 7.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of taxi, flight, and bus. In November, Takachiho-cho is a bit cooler than Yakushima-cho - with highs of 19°C and lows of 10°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sun) so you can travel to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Mon): glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, get outside with Yonehara Beach, then take in panoramic vistas at Tamatorizaki Observatory, then enjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki, and finally don't miss a visit to Euglena Mall. On the 5th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: kick back and relax at Kondoi Beach, then stroll around Banna Park, and then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

Getting from Takachiho-cho to Ishigaki by flight takes about 7 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and flight. While traveling from Takachiho-cho, expect a bit warmer days and much warmer nights in Ishigaki, ranging from highs of 31°C to lows of 25°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Tue) early enough to travel to Miyakojima.

Do a combination of flight and train from Miyakojima to Matsumoto in 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. In November, Matsumoto is cooler than Miyakojima - with highs of 14°C and lows of 6°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Nikko.
