A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Yonaha Maehama Beach and Tomori Imugya Beach. Visiting Hora Gyoko no Hama Beach and Sunayama Beach will get you outdoors. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Aragusuku Beach and tour the pleasant surroundings at Nagamahama Beach Coast.

Tel Aviv, Israel to Miyakojima is an approximately 19.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 7 hours traveling from Tel Aviv to Miyakojima. Get some cultural insight at Cape Hirakubozaki and Nei Museum of Art. Take a break from the city and head to Yonehara Beach and Akashi Beach. The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Kondoi Beach, glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, cruise along Nagurao Bridge, and stroll through Fusaki Beach.

Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Nijo Castle and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. Get a sense of the local culture at Gion and Sanjusangendo Temple. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kyoto: Osaka (Dotonbori & Osaka Castle) and Nara (Nara National Museum & Nara Park). There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, examine the collection at Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts Fureaikan, get a taste of the local shopping with Nishiki Market, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kinkaku-ji.

You can take a train from Hiroshima to Kyoto in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In September in Kyoto, expect temperatures between 33°C during the day and 23°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Mon) to allow time to take a train to Numazu.
