The coastal town of Kamakura sits close to Tokyo, with the ancient settlement featuring a number of important historical and cultural sites.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Fri): take in panoramic vistas at Shojoken Ovservatory, then steep yourself in history at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, then contemplate the long history of Hase-dera Temple, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Kōtoku-in. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 2nd (Sat): tour the pleasant surroundings at Asaina Sunken Road, head off the coast to Enoshima Island, and then admire the natural beauty at Nagakubo Park.

Manila, Philippines to Kamakura is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Philippines Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Manila in October, expect nights in Kamakura to be slightly colder, around 19°C, while days are much colder, around 21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sat) early enough to travel to Tokyo.

Traveling by train from Kamakura to Tokyo takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Kamakura in November, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Tokyo: temperatures range from 19°C by day to 11°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Thu) to allow enough time to take a train to Kanazawa.
