The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Cheonjiyeon Falls & Seongsan Ilchulbong). There's still lots to do: take in the awesome beauty at Halla Mountain, go for a walk through Handam Coastal Trail, head outdoors with Gwakji Gwamul Beach, and stroll around Sarabong Park.

Amsterdam, Holland to Jeju is an approximately 16.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 8 hours traveling from Amsterdam to Jeju. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) early enough to travel to Gwangju.

Gwangju is the sixth largest city in South Korea. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Gwangju: Unjusa (in Hwasun-gun) and Suncheon (Seonamsa Temple & Songgwangsa Temple). Fly from Jeju to Gwangju in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and bus; or do a combination of ferry and taxi. In April, daily temperatures in Gwangju can reach 20°C, while at night they dip to 19°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Busan.

Getting from Gwangju to Busan by car takes about 3 hours. Other options: take a bus; or fly. Traveling from Gwangju in April, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit cooler in Busan, with lows of 10°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Wed) early enough to drive to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Thu): appreciate the extensive heritage of Tongiljeon, take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, then identify plant and animal life at Gyeongju Bird Park, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, appreciate the history behind Seokguram, and then steep yourself in history at Cheonmachong Tomb.

You can drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. While traveling from Busan, expect little chillier days and a bit warmer nights in Gyeongju, ranging from highs of 14°C to lows of 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Sokcho.
