The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 8th (Sun): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Nagoyama Reien Busharito, contemplate the long history of Nishi no Maru, contemplate the long history of Bizenmaru, then stop by Yamasa Kamaboko Yumesenkan, then see the interesting displays at Japan Toy Museum, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ishino Hoden Oishi Shrine.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
For shopping fun, head to Fuuka-Kimono or Kyoto Kimono Rental Sakura. Hosenin and Mount Hiei will appeal to history buffs. Getting from Kyoto to Nagoya by train takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Kyoto in November, you will find days in Nagoya are little chillier (57°F), and nights are about the same (49°F). Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Takayama.
