Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Nijo-jo Castle and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. Do some cultural sightseeing at Gion and Sanjusangendo Temple. Get out of town with these interesting Kyoto side-trips: Osaka (Dotonbori & Osaka Castle). Next up on the itinerary: take some stellar pictures from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, snap pictures at Togetsukyo Bridge, take in the pleasant sights at Arashiyama, and make a trip to Hanamikoji Street.

On the 8th (Sat), take in the spiritual surroundings of Miyajima and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Itsukushima Shrine. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: pause for some photo ops at Atomic Bomb Dome, then step into the grandiose world of Hiroshima Castle, then explore the world behind art at Hiroshima Museum of Art, and finally see the interesting displays at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.
