Do a combination of train and flight from Hiroshima to Miyakojima in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Hiroshima in October: high temperatures in Miyakojima hover around 33°C and lows are around 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sat) so you can travel to Ishigaki.

Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Sun): find your balance on the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, enjoy the sand and surf at Yonehara Beach, then head outdoors with Cape Hirakubozaki, and finally take in panoramic vistas at Tamatorizaki Observatory. The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get some cultural insight at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Your inner history buff will appreciate Kinkaku-ji and Eikando Zenrinji Temple. Venture out of the city with trips to Ise Shrine Geku (in Ise), Dotonbori (in Osaka) and Himeji Castle (in Himeji). There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, don't miss a visit to Gion, take in the spiritual surroundings of Chion-in Temple, and steep yourself in history at Sanjusangendo Temple.

You can take a train from Kanazawa to Kyoto in 2.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 19°C in November, and nighttime lows around 10°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
