Start off your visit on the 11th (Mon): go for a walk through Shishiiwa, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Kamikura Shrine, then take in the dramatic scenery at Nachi Mitaki Falls, and finally go for a walk through Hatenashi Shuraku. On the next day, take in the pleasant sights at Osugi Canyon, then hike along Yakiyama Pass, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Daiuma Shrine.

A spiritual center of Shintoism, Ise stands as a traditional city where visitors can see the roots of Japanese culture in a number of well-preserved natural and historic sites.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Ise: Toba (Mikimoto Pearl Island & Harusame Observatory), Suzuka Circuit (in Suzuka) and Hotel Shima Spain Mura (in Shima). Traveling by car from Ise to Kyoto takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit cooler evenings in Kyoto when traveling from Ise in October, with lows around 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Nara.
