Best known for its Champagne production, Épernay is a small town featuring several famous brands, including Moët & Chandon, that have been aged in the miles of tunneled cellars carved from chalk rock beneath the town.

Perhaps best known for its locally produced mustard, Dijon also makes a wonderfully flavorful crème de cassis, or blackcurrant liqueur, and boasts excellent examples of regional architecture with polychrome roofs made of tiles in terracotta, green, yellow, and black placed in geometric patterns.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sat): get engrossed in the history at Musee d'Art Sacre, examine the collection at Mulot & Petitjean, relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, take an in-depth tour of Musee Archeologique, then don't miss a visit to Monument Sadi Carnot Place de la Republique, and finally contemplate the long history of Maison Milliere. On your second day here, don't miss a visit to Place de la Liberation, cruise along Route des Grands Crus, then walk around Parc de la Colombiere, then see the interesting displays at Musee Magnin, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Eglise Saint-Michel de Dijon.

You can drive from Epernay to Dijon in 3 hours. Another option is to take a train. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Dijon when traveling from Epernay in June, with lows around 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 8th (Mon) to allow time for the car ride to Lyon.
