The largest and most populous city in New Zealand, Auckland combines a rich history and thriving contemporary culture in an abundance of museums, art galleries, and performance venues.
Step out of the city life by going to Browns Bay Beach and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. Discover out-of-the-way places like Horse Riding Warkworth and The Elephant House. Venture out of the city with trips to Parry Kauri Park (in Warkworth) and Matakana Beach Outfitters (in Matakana). There's still lots to do: grab your bike and head to Nelson Street Cycleway, take in the spiritual surroundings of Holy Trinity Cathedral, relax and rejuvenate at some of the top local wellness centers, and have some family-friendly fun at Blastacars West Auckland.

Singapore, Singapore to Auckland is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of flight and bus. The time zone difference moving from Singapore Time (SGT) to New Zealand Standard Time (NZST) is 4 hours. When traveling from Singapore in January, plan for much colder days in Auckland, with highs around 22°C, while nights are slightly colder with lows around 22°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Mon) so you can go by car to Rotorua.

Surrounded by lakes and featuring impressive areas of geothermal landscape, the city of Rotorua offers an otherwordly landscape and a welcoming, peaceful environment, with the culture of the native Maori people very much in the foreground.
For shopping fun, head to Mountain Jade or the Zeus Gallery. Get in touch with nature at Waimangu Volcanic Valley and Waikite Valley Thermal Pools. Step out of Rotorua to go to Mount Maunganui and see Mount Maunganui Base Track, which is approximately 1h 10 min away. There's much more to do: identify plant and animal life at Redwoods Treewalk, tour the pleasant surroundings at Blue Lake Track, take in the natural beauty of Kuirau Park, and learn about winemaking at Volcanic Hills Winery.

You can drive from Auckland to Rotorua in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or fly. While traveling from Auckland, expect a bit warmer days and slightly colder nights in Rotorua, ranging from highs of 27°C to lows of 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Wed) early enough to take a bus to Taupo.

The resort town of Taupo lies on the banks of Lake Taupo, the largest body of water in the whole of Australasia.
Kick off your visit on the 30th (Thu): explore the activities along Lake Taupo, grab your bike and head to Great Lake Trail, and then stroll through Kinloch Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: look for gifts at Souvenir Outlet & Mountain Bike Hire and then look for all kinds of wild species at Tongariro National Trout Centre.

You can take a bus from Rotorua to Taupo in an hour. Another option is to drive. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 31st (Fri) to allow time for travel to Akaroa.

The French heritage and colonial architecture of Akaroa has broad appeal to anthropologists, historians, architects--and just about anyone with an eye for beautiful, historical buildings and a palate for fine dining.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Sat): tee off at Akaroa Golf Club, then stop by Little River Gallery, then learn about winemaking at French Peak Wines, and finally identify plant and animal life at Hinewai Reserve. On the next day, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Peter's Anglican Church and then learn about winemaking at Bentwood Wines.
