Morelia is a city and municipality in the north central part of the state of Michoacán in central Mexico. Popular historic sites such as Tzintzuntzan Ruins and Santuario del Carmen are in your itinerary. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Venta Artesanias and La Mano Grafica. Get out of town with these interesting Morelia side-trips: Tlalpujahua (Dos Estrella Mine & Tlalpujahua - Pueblo Magico), Mariposa Monarca (in Angangueo) and Tzintzuntzan (Museo Antiguo Convento Franciscano De Santa Ana de Tzintzuntzan & Archaeological Zone of Ihuatzio). Pack the 13th (Wed) with family-friendly diversions at Reino de Atzimba. Spend the 14th (Thu) exploring nature at Lago de Camecuaro National Park. And it doesn't end there: take in the spiritual surroundings of Santa Rosa de Lima, step off the mainland to explore Lake Patzcuaro, cool off at Villa Longin, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Templo de la Compania de Jesus.
