A coastal place of relaxation, Ibusuki stands as a hot spring resort on the southern tip of the peninsula.
You've added Lake Ikeda, Lake Unagi, Yamakawa sand steamed bath onsen Sayuri, and other attractions to your itinerary. On the 4th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take some stellar pictures from Chiran Samurai Residence Garden, contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Ikeda, kick back and relax at Chiringashima, make a trip to Former Yamagawa Salt Manufacturer, then soak in some Japanese tradition at Yamakawa sand steamed bath onsen Sayuri, and finally explore the activities along Lake Unagi.

Getting from Tokyo to Ibusuki by combination of flight and bus takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of train and ferry; or drive. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Ibusuki when traveling from Tokyo in October, with lows around 23°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Takachiho-cho.

Traveling from Ibusuki in September, Takachiho-cho is little chillier at night with lows of 23°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel to Kyoto.

You can do a combination of taxi and train from Takachiho-cho to Hiroshima in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train. October in Hiroshima sees daily highs of 26°C and lows of 19°C at night. You will have some time to spend on the 10th (Wed) before leaving for Kyoto.

You've now added Nara Park to your itinerary. Get some cultural insight at Gion and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. We've also included these beaches for you: Tanoura Beach and Matsumoto Mountai Pass. Get out of town with these interesting Kyoto side-trips: Kurokabe Square (in Nagahama) and Amanohashidate (in Miyazu). Getting from Hiroshima to Kyoto by train takes about 2 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of ferry, flight, and train. In October, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 27°C, while at night they dip to 18°C. You'll have a few hours on the 13th (Sat) to wrap things up before traveling to Nagano.
