Tokyo is known for historic sites, shopping, parks, museums, and nightlife. Moscow, Russia to Tokyo is an approximately 14-hour flight. The time zone changes from Moscow Standard Time (MSK) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 6 hour difference. Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Moscow in April: high temperatures in Tokyo hover around 22°C and lows are around 12°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 18th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Takayama.

Hidden high up in the Japanese Alps, Takayama remained largely cut off from the rest of Japan for centuries, allowing the local culture to grow in relative isolation.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Wed): ponder the world of politics at Takayama Jinya, wander the streets of Sanmachi Suji, then examine the collection at Takayama Festival Floats Exhibition Hall, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sakurayama Hachiman-gū Shrine. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take an in-depth tour of Gassho Zukuri Minka-en, take in panoramic vistas at Shirakawago Shiroyama Observatory Deck, then appreciate the extensive heritage of The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go Traditional Houses in the Gassho Style, and finally steep yourself in history at Wada House.

You can drive from Tokyo to Takayama in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight, taxi, and train; or take a bus. When traveling from Tokyo in April, plan for little chillier days in Takayama, with highs around 19°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 10°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Kyoto is known for historic sites, parks, outdoors, shopping, and classes. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: get great views at Kiyomizu-dera, make a trip to Gion, go for a walk through Philosopher's Walk, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Ginkaku-ji Temple.

Traveling by car from Takayama to Kyoto takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. While traveling from Takayama, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Kyoto, ranging from highs of 22°C to lows of 11°C. On the 24th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can take a train to Hiroshima.

The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II.
