The quaint city of Healdsburg is one of northern California's wine capitals, serving as the meeting point for three of Sonoma's most important wine-producing regions.
Mumm Napa and Charles M. Schulz Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Modus Operandi Cellars and B Cellars Vineyards and Winery. Change things up with these side-trips from Healdsburg: Sonoma Coast State Beach (in Sonoma), St. Helena (Pride Mountain Vineyards & Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park) and The Hess Collection Winery & Art Museum (in Napa). On the 14th (Fri), identify plant and animal life at Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, enjoy the sand and surf at Moss Landing State Beach, and then take in the views from Bixby Bridge. On your second day here, trek along Point Lobos, immerse yourself in nature at Asilomar State Beach, and then make a trip to Pacific Grove Oceanview Boulevard.
