Timaru is a port city in the southern Canterbury region of New Zealand, located 157 kilometres southwest of Christchurch and about 196 kilometres northeast of Dunedin on the eastern Pacific coast of the South Island. Start off your visit on the 26th (Thu): see the interesting displays at South Canterbury Museum, kick back and relax at Caroline Bay Beach, and then look and learn at Geraldine Observatory. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the exciting artwork at Te Ana Maori Rock Art, examine the collection at Geraldine Vintage Car and Machinery Museum, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Gem Alpaca Stud.
