A spiritual center of Shintoism, Ise stands as a traditional city where visitors can see the roots of Japanese culture in a number of well-preserved natural and historic sites.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): admire nature's wide array of creatures at Toba Aquarium, then contemplate the long history of Jingu Chokokan Museum, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ise Grand Shrine, and finally appreciate the extensive heritage of Ise Shrine Geku. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 5th (Sun): don't miss a visit to Okage Yokocho, see the interesting displays at Okageza, then steep yourself in history at Izawanomiya, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Takinomiya.

Plan my trip to Ise with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major airports are Chubu Centrair International Airport, Osaka International Airport and Kansai International Airport. In January, plan for daily highs up to 46°F, and evening lows to 43°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
