Inhabited for millennia, the city of Bukhara boasts a World Heritage-listed center teeming with historic mosques, madrassas, pools, and ancient ruins.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Fri): don't miss a visit to Moschea Bolo-khauz, admire the striking features of Samanid Mausoleum, get great views at Great Minaret of the Kalon, then delve into the distant past at Mir-i Arab Madrasah, and finally admire the striking features of Chor-Minor. Here are some ideas for day two: take an in-depth tour of Palace of Moon-like Stars (Sitorai-Mokhi-Khosa), make a trip to Lyab-i-Hauz, take in the spiritual surroundings of Abdulaziz-Khan Madrasah, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Poi Kalyan Mosque, then see the interesting displays at Avicenna Museum, Afsona, and finally stop by History of Bukhara Puppet Theatre.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Bukhara is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference when traveling from Dubai to Bukhara is 1 hour. Traveling from Dubai in March, things will get much colder in Bukhara: highs are around 19°C and lows about 5°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sat) so you can travel to Samarkand.

Traveling from Bishkek in March, expect nights in Almaty to be about the same, around 0°C, while days are slightly colder, around 12°C.
