A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Ojukheon and Coffee Cupper Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Naksansa Temple and Ojukheon Municipal Museum. When in Gangneung, make a side trip to see Mukho Lighthouse Park in Donghae, approximately 1h 05 min away. Next up on the itinerary: kick back and relax at Gyeongpo Beach, take an in-depth tour of Heogyun and Heonanseolheon Memorial Hall, hike along Jeongdong-Simgok Badabuchae-gil Trail, and take a leisurely stroll along Jumunjin Breakwater.

On the 8th (Thu), steep yourself in history at Gyeongju Hyanggyo Confucian School. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 9th (Fri): take in the spiritual surroundings of Golgulsa Temple, see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, then steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Seokguram, and finally hunt for treasures at Jukdo Market.
