The city of Hatsukaichi developed from a small market town, frequented by passing samurais during the Edo period.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Mon): steep yourself in history at Itsukushima Shrine, then head off the coast to Miyajima, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Misen. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 12th (Tue): head outdoors with Paddle Park, take a peaceful walk through Misen Wild Woods, and then take in the views from Kintaikyo Bridge.

Singapore, Singapore to Hatsukaichi is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of car and ferry. The time zone difference moving from Singapore Time to Japan Standard Time is 1 hour. Prepare for cooler weather when traveling from Singapore in November: high temperatures in Hatsukaichi hover around 20°C and lows are around 11°C. The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get out of town with these interesting Kyoto side-trips: Nara (Nara Park & Todaiji Temple Cultural Center) and Osaka (Dotonbori & Osaka Castle). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, wander the streets of Gion, and steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine.
