Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Cape Hirakubozaki and Kondoi Beach. Take a break from the city and head to Yonehara Beach and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. There's lots more to do: add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour, take in the waterfront at Nishi Pier, and enjoy breathtaking views from Tamatorizaki Observatory.

You can do a combination of train and flight from Hiroshima to Ishigaki in 5.5 hours. Another option is to fly. Prepare for much hotter weather when traveling from Hiroshima in February: high temperatures in Ishigaki hover around 25°C and lows are around 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 12th (Wed) so you can travel to Miyakojima.
