Brisbane, Australia to Tokyo is an approximately 13-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time (Queensland) (AEST) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a -1 hour difference. A spiritual center of Shintoism, Ise stands as a traditional city where visitors can see the roots of Japanese culture in a number of well-preserved natural and historic sites.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Fri): take in the spiritual surroundings of Tsukiyominomiya, get to know the fascinating history of Ise Shrine Geku, take in the spiritual surroundings of Sarutahiko Shrine, then don't miss a visit to Oharai-machi, then get engrossed in the history at Sengukan, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ise Grand Shrine.

Getting from Tokyo to Ise by train takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of flight and train. When traveling from Tokyo in February, plan for little chillier days and somewhat warmer nights in Ise: temperatures range from 9°C by day to 7°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Fri) so you can go by car to Kyoto.

Drive from Ise to Kyoto in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Ise in February, plan for a bit cooler nights in Kyoto, with lows around 1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Mon) so you can take a train to Hiroshima.

Get outdoors at Yonaha Maehama Beach and Aragusuku Beach. Discover out-of-the-way places like Sunayama Beach and Scuba & Snorkeling. Traveling by combination of train and flight from Hiroshima to Miyakojima takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. Traveling from Hiroshima in February, you will find days in Miyakojima are somewhat warmer (24°C), and nights are much warmer (19°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Ishigaki.
