On the 8th (Mon), step into the grandiose world of Osaka Castle, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tōdai-ji, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Nara Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 9th (Tue): enjoy breathtaking views from Kuchu Teien Observatory, admire the striking features of Shin Umeda City, then admire nature's wide array of creatures at Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, then get great views at Tempozan Ferris Wheel, and finally take a stroll through Dotonbori.

On the 10th (Wed), step off the mainland to explore Miyajima, step into the grandiose world of Hiroshima Castle, then pause for some photo ops at Children's Peace Monument, then make a trip to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, and finally pause for some photo ops at Atomic Bomb Dome. On the next day, take in the views from Kintaikyo Bridge and then examine the collection at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
On the 12th (Fri), make a trip to Otemae Street, then admire the natural beauty at Kokoen Garden, then step into the grandiose world of Himeji Castle, and finally make a trip to Shoshazan Engyoji.

You can take a train from Hiroshima to Himeji in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive. In January in Himeji, expect temperatures between 10°C during the day and 3°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can catch the train to Kyoto.
