Copenhagen, Denmark to Noboribetsu is an approximately 17.5-hour combination of flight and car. You'll lose 8 hours traveling from Copenhagen to Noboribetsu due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Copenhagen in July, Noboribetsu is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Tue) so you can go by car to Kushiro.

Kushiro first developed as an industrial hub thanks to its relatively ice-free harbor, and has since also become known as a transport hub for journeys to the east of the island.

Perched on the confluence of four rivers and surrounded by green hills, Asahikawa combines a modern city experience with the pristine nature nearby.

Drive from Shari-cho to Asahikawa in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and bus; or do a combination of taxi, flight, and train. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Asahikawa when traveling from Shari-cho in July, with lows around 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Otaru.

The port city of Otaru has long attracted domestic visitors, drawn in by the city's many historic buildings, and has started to garner international attention, too.

Traveling by car from Asahikawa to Otaru takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In July, daily temperatures in Otaru can reach 26°C, while at night they dip to 24°C. On the 29th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Hakodate.

A gateway to the island, Hakodate has gained a reputation for its waterfront attractions, its proximity to some of the island's most popular natural sites, and its seafood.
