With its history proudly stemming from the Scottish settlers who came here during the colonial era, Dunedin's streets are lined with well-preserved examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, while a new culture of nightlife and fine dining takes hold around them.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sat): browse the exhibits of Happy Hens, look for all kinds of wild species at Penguin Place, and then admire the natural beauty at Dunedin Botanic Garden. On your second day here, hike along Tunnel Beach Track, then see the interesting displays at Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, then get curious at Otago Museum, and finally indulge your thirst for a good beer at Speight’s Brewery.
