Go for a jaunt from Tokyo to Maihama to see Tokyo DisneySea about 30 minutes away. Have a day of magic on the 9th (Wed) at Tokyo Disneyland. Start off your visit on the 11th (Fri): stroll through Shiga Kogen, soak in some Japanese tradition at some of the top local onsens, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Ganshoin Temple. Keep things going the next day: look for all kinds of wild species at Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, stroll through Ryuoo Ski Park, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Joraku-ji Temple.

Getting from Tokyo to Yamanouchi-machi by combination of train and taxi takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Tokyo in December, things will get a bit cooler in Yamanouchi-machi: highs are around 7°C and lows about 0°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sat) so you can travel to Fujinomiya.
