Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Mon): admire the landmark architecture of Tokyo Tower, then shop like a local with Ginza, then admire the masterpieces at Tokyo National Museum, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Senso-ji Temple. On the next day, meet the residents at Ueno Zoo, then take a stroll through Asakusa, and then examine the collection at Edo-Tokyo Museum.

Guarulhos, Brazil to Tokyo is an approximately 29-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 12 hours traveling from Guarulhos to Tokyo. Plan for much colder temperatures traveling from Guarulhos in March, with highs in Tokyo at 17°C and lows at 7°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Wed) to allow time to travel to Kita.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get some cultural insight at Nijo-jo Castle and Kinkaku-ji. Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Ryoanji Temple will appeal to history buffs. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, take an in-depth tour of Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts Fureaikan, explore the activities along Kamogawa River, and don't miss a visit to Gion.

You can take a train from Hakone-machi to Kyoto in 4 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of train and flight. While traveling from Hakone-machi, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Kyoto, ranging from highs of 22°C to lows of 11°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Sat) early enough to catch the train to Hiroshima.
