Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Ghibli Museum Mitaka as well as Robot Restaurant. Head to Asakusa and Chiyoda Nyan To Naru Cafefor some retail therapy. Edo-Tokyo Museum and Akihabara are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Amsterdam, Holland to Tokyo is an approximately 15.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Amsterdam to Tokyo is 8 hours. Traveling from Amsterdam in April, things will get somewhat warmer in Tokyo: highs are around 22°C and lows about 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Kyoto.

Traveling by train from Tokyo to Kyoto takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In April, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 22°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Wed) early enough to take a train to Nara.

The country's first established capital, Nara houses some of the most storied buildings and natural attractions in Japan, with eight World Heritage Sites in total.
On the 9th (Thu), take in the spiritual surroundings of Kasuga Grand Shrine, see the interesting displays at Todaiji Temple Cultural Center, then appreciate the history behind Todai-ji Temple, and finally walk around Nara Park.

You can take a train from Kyoto to Nara in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of subway and train. Traveling from Kyoto in April, Nara is somewhat warmer at night with lows of 15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Fri) early enough to catch the train to Osaka.
