The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Fri): contemplate the long history of Nishi no Maru, explore the historical opulence of Himeji Castle, then take in nature's colorful creations at Kokoen Garden, and finally stroll through Himeji Park. On your second day here, make a trip to Shoshazan Engyoji, don't miss a visit to Shoshazan Ropeway, then make a trip to Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens.
