Let the collections at Tokyo National Museum and Edo-Tokyo Museum capture your imagination. Do some cultural sightseeing at Minato Mirai 21 and Asakusa. Go for a jaunt from Tokyo to Mitaka to see Ghibli Museum about 44 minutes away. Istanbul, Turkey to Tokyo is an approximately 16-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference when traveling from Istanbul to Tokyo is 6 hours. Kick off your visit on the 31st (Wed): make a trip to Hakodate Morning Market, hunt for treasures at Hakodate Morning Market, then get to know the fascinating history of Onuma Park Walking Path, then stop by Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse, and finally pause for some photo ops at Hokkaido Dai Ippo no Chi Monument. Here are some ideas for day two: wander the streets of Motomachi, steep yourself in history at The Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward, pause for some serene contemplation at Hakodate Orthodox Church, then steep yourself in history at Iai Kindergarten, then make a trip to Hachimanzaka, and finally admire the landmark architecture of Hakodate Community Design Center.

Traveling by flight from Tokyo to Hakodate takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Traveling from Tokyo in October, things will get a bit cooler in Hakodate: highs are around 18°C and lows about 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Thu) to allow enough time to travel to Kyoto.
