Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Hakodate is an approximately 14-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Hakodate due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Sapporo in June, Shari-cho is slightly colder at night with lows of 14°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sat) so you can go by car to Asahikawa.

With the largest international airport on the island, Chitose serves for most visitors as a way in or a way out, rather than a destination in itself.
You've now added Lake Shikotsu to your itinerary. Get out of town with these interesting Chitose side-trips: Nibutani Ainu Museum (in Biratori-cho) and Shiraoi Ainu Musuem and Village (in Shiraoi-cho). Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Chitose in June: highs in Kushiro hover around 18°C, while lows dip to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 28th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
