One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Sat): take in the spiritual surroundings of Chapel of St. George, contemplate the long history of Stoa of Attalos, thenexplore the ancient world of Theater of Dionysus, thenmake a trip to Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Kapnikarea. On the next day, have a few drinks at Taf The Art Foundation, see the interesting displays at Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Greek Technology, and then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
