One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Thu): pause for some photo ops at Seokguram, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Gyeongju Bird Park. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Cheonmachong Tomb, then contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond, then see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gyeongju Hyanggyo Confucian School.

You can drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. While traveling from Busan, expect little chillier days and about the same nights in Gyeongju, ranging from highs of 25°C to lows of 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Fri) early enough to drive to Sokcho.
