A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Mon): take in the views from Kurima Bridge, then stroll through Yonaha Maehama Beach, then snap pictures at Irabu Ohashi, and finally kick back and relax at Toguchi no Hama. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Sunayama Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Aragusuku Beach, and then visit a coastal fixture at Higashi Hennazaki Lighthouse.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Wed): take in panoramic vistas at Tamatorizaki Observatory, head outdoors with Cape Hirakubozaki, and then glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: enjoy the sand and surf at Yonehara Beach, then look for gifts at Yurateiku Market, and then kick back and relax at Kondoi Beach.

Onna-son

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Nakijin Castle Ruins and Nakagusuku Castle Ruins. Head to AEONMALL OKINAWA RYCOM and Onna Station Nakayukui Marketfor some retail therapy. Venture out of the city with trips to Sefa-Utaki (in Nanjo), Okinawa Peace Memorial Park (in Itoman) and Okichan Theater (in Motobu-cho). There's more to do: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour and steep yourself in history at Katsuren Castle Ruins.

Getting from Onna-son to Hiroshima by combination of bus and flight takes about 6.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus, flight, and train; or do a combination of ferry and train. Traveling from Onna-son in March, expect Hiroshima to be little chillier, temps between 16°C and 6°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Tue) to allow time to take a train to Kyoto.
