Auckland, New Zealand to Tokyo is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from New Zealand Standard Time (NZST) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a -3 hour difference. Traveling from Auckland in April, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be slightly colder in Tokyo, with lows of 12°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Sat) early enough to travel to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Tofuku-ji Temple and Toji. Do some cultural sightseeing at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Sanjusangendo Temple. Get out of town with these interesting Kyoto side-trips: Osaka (Dotonbori & Osaka Castle). Take a train from Tokyo to Kyoto in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In April, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 22°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Tue) to allow enough time to take a train to Hiroshima.

You can take a train from Kyoto to Hiroshima in 2 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. April in Hiroshima sees daily highs of 22°C and lows of 13°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) so you can travel to Ishigaki.

Kick off your visit on the 11th (Sat): enjoy breathtaking views from Tamatorizaki Observatory, then enjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki, and then take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports. Getting from Hiroshima to Ishigaki by combination of train and flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: fly. Traveling from Hiroshima in April, things will get a bit warmer in Ishigaki: highs are around 30°C and lows about 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sun) so you can travel to Miyakojima.

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
