One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
On the 20th (Mon), pause for some photo ops at Seokguram, then steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Gyeongju Bird Park. Here are some ideas for day two: steep yourself in history at Oksan Seowon, examine the collection at Gyeongju National Museum, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond.

You can drive from Sokcho to Gyeongju in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. In April, daytime highs in Gyeongju are 14°C, while nighttime lows are 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Tue) early enough to drive to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Wed): stroll around Yongdusan Park, hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market, enjoy the sea views from Yeongdo Lighthouse, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haedong Yonggung Temple, and finally head outdoors with Haeundae Beach. Getting from Gyeongju to Busan by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. When traveling from Gyeongju in April, plan for a bit warmer days and little chillier nights in Busan: temperatures range from 22°C by day to 10°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Thu) early enough to travel to Jeju.
